Neutron Stars

by Dylan Wagner
I did some research and found out that a neutron star is the remnants of a massive star that has run out of fuel. This star has been around for many years and is now decaying. Say that if you take a teaspoon of this star it would approximately weigh 6 billion tons. I found this interesting because this is a lot of weight for only a teaspoon of it.

ER=EPR

by Erica Paille
This video is about two theories people have thought developed our universe, but until now no one has discovered and equation to combine them. The answer to these theories are worm wholes found in our universe. A physicist made the equation ER=EPR. This does not stand for numbers it stands for the inventors of these theories.

Space Race II

by Sam McKeown
There was a famous space race during the cold war between the US and the USSR. The culmination of this race was when Neil Armstrong stepped foot on the Moon in 1969. And since that day in 1969, lots of advances have been made with the space program. The thing is, there has not been the same enthusiasm with the space program as there once was. There are a few reasons behind this, but in my opinion, there is one that stand out.
Ever since we set foot on the Moon, there has been no obvious next step. People have always looked to the Moon, but it was never realistic for a government to take that massive step. So, space lost its intrigue.
Except that has changed in the last few years, especially the last few months. Now, the torch of ingenuity when it comes to space has been passed on to private companies. The two companies that are the most important when it comes to the race to Mars are SpaceX, led by Elon Musk and a partnership between Boeing and Lockheed.

All three of these companies have slightly different end goals, but all three have the immediate goal of making space travel cheaper and easier, allowing humans to reach Mars as soon as possible. The competition between the company's recently intensified when Elon Musk unveiled detailed plans on how SpaceX plans on making it to Mars. Then, Boeing-Lockheed said that they plan on beating Musk to Mars. Let the race begin.

Marshmallow Challenge 16-17

A new year is upon us, another Marshmallow Challenge completed!
Prototyping matters = continuously build and refine your knowledge
Facilitation matters = think about the HOW as much as the what
Congratulations to
  • "The Group Group" in POE for the tallest tower of all classes 71 cm!
  • CEA for the highest class average  with 51.7 cm!

Welcome to C Physics!

This blog is for the students of C pd Physics to share their summaries and images of progress, projects, and related articles & videos with the Medway community and the world.  We have two questions that must be answered before we can go further.  The first is your homework tonight:

Who Are You?

  1. Go to Google Classroom
  2. Join the class with the code: mivjaok
  3. Complete the first assignment by 11:59pm Tuesday
The resulting slideshow will be embedded in the About section of this blog.  After all, you'll all be authors.

Who Are We?

The next day we'll collectively set norms for the class.  Think about the classes you've had.  Think about your ideal class.  What would it be like?  What would it not be like?  What should we expect of each other?
